Vinny's Skatepark is closing the doors.

VINNY'S SKATEPARK IS CLOSING THE DOORS

The estimated date for the last skate session is Saturday March 13th 2010.
The Lock-in 2/27/10 and Rick Thorne 3/2/10 is still a go and we are stoked to be able to host such events.
If you have any gift cards or gift certificates you should use them a.s.a.p. because when Vinny's closes they will be void.
Vinny's Skatepark, owners, staff and friends would like to thank all of the skaters, bikers, bladers, parents and friends for all the great times here at the park.
We hope all the awesome memories that you have at the park will last your life time!
So keep skating, riding and rolling. Keep it real and keep if fun!

GRO Announces the “We Gro Skateboarding Tour”
Girls Skate Session and Workshop Series
- Encourages and Empowers Girls to Participate in Action Sports -

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (June 28th, 2009) – Girls Riders Organization is excited to announce the 4th annual GRO skateboarding tour, a nation-wide series of female-only action sports instructional programs and gatherings of female skaters committed to inspiring girls to participate in action sports and encouraging them to remain active to lead a healthy lifestyle.

On March 6, 2009 the GRO team began a journey that will lead to over 70 cities in more than 40 states across the nation to mentor and coach females of all ages in skateboarding, with BMX and Surf at specific locations. The events consist of girl skate sessions, on-site demonstrations and hands-on training in a fun and safe environment. Through one-on-one interaction with top action sports instructors., each girl will come away from the program with the basic skills of the sport, increased confidence and ongoing opportunities in action sports.

“Skateboarding can be customized to fit anyone’s needs. Many people see the professionals through major televised events and decide that they are incapable of such feats. What we want to show is the other side of skating, the fun, the progression, the sessions and friends. That is the true heart of action sports.” Says Courtney Payne Taylor, the organizations founder.

GRO will host over 50 events in 40 states as it embarks on its travels around the country. The workshops will run from March to November with our final stop for the Tampa Am in Florida. We are coming to …

All the skaters were winners and I wish we could have had more pictures but Mark Fountain was doing all the talking for us and not all the picture taking.
All the skaters rocked the park and deserve thier picture taken, but these skaters got the swag for being the best.

Vinny's Bowl is going to Saylor Skatepark.

Vinny is giving his bowl to Saylor Skatepark in Des Moines Iowa.
It will be a sweet addition to thier already sweet Park. I'm sure the Skaters and BMX riders will enjoy it for years to come.
They will start the disassemble proccess April 4th.at Vinny's. (The Lock-in will be canceled tell the next sign up in May.)
Vinny's will need to close for a couple of days to get the bowl out, and Vinny will keep you posted on that date.
Vinny is building a street section to take the place of the old bowl area. 1 - 5 stair, 1 - 8 stair, hubbas, round rail, 2" square rail, rainbow rail, banks. The frame work is completed and you can check it out on request.
The park will stay open while Vinny completes the street section. It will take close to two weeks tell the park is 100%.
It will be well worth the wait.

New future street section at Vinny's

Skate the Bowl while it's still here. The Bowl is going to Saylor Skatepark in Des Moines Iowa. It was nice, but now a new street section is being built. Vinny's will have new round rails, new 2" wide rails, 2 new stair sets, new hubbas, new ledges and more.
It will be more mellow and enjoyable.
Please have patience during construction.

We had the best skaters from many States entering the contest. 75% were from out of town. Wisconson, Missouri, Kansas City, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska. Lincoln, Blair, Souix City, Grand Island, Concil Bluffs, Omaha, Bellevue, Papillion and some guys from out of this World.

This guy shred up the vert wall. Seeing Greg drop in the VERT WALL was one of the sickest trickes ever done at Vinny's.

Park will be open Friday and Saturday regular hours and session prices so you can get dialed in.

5 skaters, 2 min jam runs, one wins the heat and moves on. Up to 8 skaters will be in the finals each will get 1 min run with 3 to 5 judges, no ties.

Great day for a Game of Skate at Vinny's Skatepark May 4th.

40 entered the game and that made $200.00 for the winners.

First place went to Colten Leman $100.00

ELEVATED CLOTHING gave thier real RAD shirts out to the top four guys.

Mark Fountain cooked up some dogs and took some sweet shots of the event.

TOP SHOP CONTEST

Vinny's Skatepark V-BOYZ Skate team went to the National event call TOP SHOP held at 3rd LAIR Skatepark in Minneapolis Minnesota April 25-27, 2008

The Team was awesome and skated real RAD!! We all got to see and skate with some of our nations best skaters and WOW what a show. I would like to thank all of the V-BOYZ for all of thier hard work and dedication to skating and for being a positive representation for Vinny's Skatepark and the Nebraska skate scene. Congratulations to Pat McCreery, Jordan Fountain, John Neal, Greg Fountain, Lloyd Kocourek, and Steven Serratore. Good job guys!!

Minnesota was a blast!! The guys killed 3rd Lair skatepark anytime they wanted, shredding the indoor and outdoor sections. Carving bowls 4 times the size of Vinny's and one was 10' deep. Hitting the mile of street section with rails 2' tall, banks, boxes, transition and a whole lot more.

The second park we hit was Showcase Indoor Skatepark. This park had the best ramps money can buy, so smooth and perfect. (a little slick). The BOYZ tore this park up for hours each night. It had a huge 1/2 bowl 11' with a lot of vert and attached to a vert ramp. Tons of transition, banks, rails, roll-ins, gaps, and the best of all (The foam pit)!!!!

All the guys got a lot of free swag from Skate Companies, ate like kings, swam, hot tub, and had a lot of fun.

Do I hear a road trip coming??

A special thanks goes out to ( Mark Fountain ). This guy set us up!! Hooked us up with the contest, got us there, got in with a good hotel close, supported the Team, took all the pictures, and got us home. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Vinny's Skatepark Total Park Contest 3/30/08 Had an amazing turn out from a lot of Skate Shops and Skaters that like to shred the park.
Skaters and Judges were there from B.C. BBB, Fallout From Blair, Next Gen, Lincoln, K.C. Soix City and Vinny's.
Over 40 skaters entered the contest. If you did not make it then you missed out big time. The talent was amazing and worthy of watching.

Pool King now has a new division "DEEP END". The first Deep End deck was designed by Greg Fountain. Greg picked out the size and drew the custom tatoo art work. You can check out these decks at Vinny's Skatepark. The Greg Fountain signature deck includes a DVD and stickers from Gregs sponsors. For only $45.00!!! !!!! Waiver Forms !!!!

Vinny's Skatepark must have a waiver and rule form signed and on file before you can skate the park. If you are in a contest, demo or just skating a session you must have a waiver and rule form signed and on file.
If you are under the age of 19 years old you must have your parent or your legal guardian sign all the forms with you. The parent or legal guardian must sign all forms (1)in the presence of Vinny's STAFF or (2)parent or legal guardian must be able to be contacted by Vinny's STAFF to verify authenticity of concent.
Two ways you can get the forms to Vinny's. (1)Down load them from this web site, sign them and bring them in. Or (2) Use the forms at Vinny's Skatepark.
As of 12/1/07 no notary is needed.
